Good afternoon Discovery family! I hope that everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather. Below are the announcements for this week. We will be having Spirit Week this week. Monday-Pajama Day, Tuesday-Anti-Valentines Day (wear black), Wednesday-Wear Pink, White and Red, and Thursday-Dress up as a famous couple. Kai and Abby are having a bake sale to raise money for their senior projects this week during lunch. There is a change in location. It will be in the corridor outside the gym. Students will be testing in Wilson's old room over the next couple of weeks. Please be sure to stay quiet when transitioning in the hallway. There is no school for students on Friday 2/14 and Monday 2/17. There is a community service opportunity at North Newton on both of those days. Students should see the signup form I sent out last week. From Ms. Issac: This Spring, Newton Conover Middle School and Discovery High School will be putting on their Musical: "Shrek: The Musical" but we need your help in purchasing costumes, props, and set pieces! Costumes play an integral part in our productions, but they also account for a large portion of the total expenses. Costumes cost, on average, $75 and wigs $40. The cost increases with the more elaborate the costume and various accessories needed. Without costumes, you lose the magical transformation of these high school students into the characters they portray on stage. All money raised will go towards the musical production as well as purchasing a sound board for the school’s auditorium. https://gofund.me/a2d3c514 Please see the DHS news article from Yamilett and Elany: https://dhsnews.net/2025/02/07/students-appreciate-relationship-rigor-at-discovery-high-school/. As always, please reach out if you need anything. Take care. #DiscoverU #HandleHardBetter
