From our CVCC rep Ms. Williams:
Hey Class of 2026! If you are interested in adding extra CVCC CCP classes for Spring 2025, the time is NOW. You have a few options of extra Math classes, an extra Humanities class, Foreign Language, or add a CTE Pathway that may also contain classes that are college transfer. If you are not sure, sign up and we can discuss your options!
Please scan the new QR code on the CVCC CCP flyer posted in the DHS hallway, in the office, or outside my office door, and request a meeting ASAP! I plan to submit my requests for seats on October 21, 2024.
*Note: You must have paid your $40 Fall Activity Fee before I can request any seats for Spring '25 or register you for your Spring '25 Summit classes (ENG-232, HIS-13, ACA-122).) I have sent several reminders with links to my.cvcc.edu>Self-Service where you can pay online. I also will take your $40 cash payment over to CVCC for you if you want to pay that way.
I look forward to meeting with you soon!

Bryson and Zoe joined Mr. Whitener for the 2nd trip to Watauga High School this week to deliver items that they need after the storm. Please continue donating as we have adopted Watauga for the school year and want to be able to support them and their community after the damage and devastation caused by Hurricane Helene.

We made our first of what we hope will be many deliveries to Watauga High School this afternoon. They were extremely apprecitative. Thanks to our DHS students, staff, and families as well as NCHS students and families for giving so many items. A special thanks to Manufacturing Solutions Center for supplying boxes.
As is the case with disasters like this, their needs will change. Mr. Strickler, their principal, said the following items are their biggest needs at this time:
Batteries
Shovels
Gloves
Laundry detergent
Diaper paste
Fans
Gift cards (gas, Walmart, etc)
Money in social workers account so that she can purchase specific supplies for the families that have been displaced.
Please give as you are able because I know that if the roles were reversed, they would do the same for us. Take care.
