Monday and Tuesday will be Enrichment, Wednesday will be SEL, Thursday will be Family, and Friday will be Community.
NCHS is on a pep rally schedule for Friday so we will need to modify our schedule as well since we have so many students who go across the street for class.
1st period, 11 period, 12 period, 2nd period, 21 period, and 22 period will remain the same except that 2nd period and 22 period will end at 10:30 instead of 10:35.
3rd period 10:35-12:35
Lunch 11:15-12:05
4th period 12:40-2:00
Community 2:00-2:50
We will continue with our Canned Food Drive this week. It will end on Friday and if we meet our goal of 1000 cans, Mr. Whitener will complete the Ice Bucket Challenge. We only have 285 cans thus far so bring those cans in.
We will be hosting a blood drive on Friday at DHS. Please refer to the attached flyer for more info.
Underclassmen and Senior make up pictures will take place on Monday October 13th. For underclassmen pictures: There are no paper flyers required. After picture day, proofs will be sent to the school to distribute, then parents can go online with their child’s Personal Photo Key (previously Shoot Key) to order pictures. For senior pictures: There is a sitting fee to view or purchase tux & drape photos which can be paid at carolinaphoto.net using JOB KEY 7JE5MR8S. This job key will remain active all school year for parents to pay the sitting fee. There is no fee for Cap & Gown pictures.

Discovery is very excited to announce we are hosting a fundraiser called Castle of Cans, but we cannot do it without the support of parents and students. All you need to do is donate some cans of food if you're able. Our goal is to raise 1,000 cans. If we can reach our goal, then Mr. Whitener will do the ice bucket challenge!
Thank you
Vice President of the Discovery Student Senate

Good afternoon Discovery family. I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Below are the announcements for this week.
At Community on Friday, I talked with our students about our Pepsi Philosophy and the importance of working before rewarding themselves. This is an important concept, not just for school, but for life in general.
Monday and Tuesday are Enrichment, Wednesday is Advisory, Thursday is Family, and Friday is Community.
There will be a Lunch and Learn for Seniors and their parents on Friday October 3rd at 11:30. I encourage parents to attend this as Ms. Arditti will be covering important information that will be relevant for seniors as they close out their high school careers.
Parents, I encourage you to discuss your student's classes with them. We are a month into school and it is important for you to know how he/she is doing. Feel free to reach out to his/her teachers if you have any questions.
