Good afternoon Discovery Family. I hope that everyone has enjoyed their weekend. Below are the announcements for this week.
From Mr. Scronce about our Environthon Team who competed in Wilkesboro on Friday: "Discovery High School competed in the NW regional Envirothon competition on Friday. Two teams competed and represented Discovery in a professional manner. The team members were Carilone Powell, Gabby Queen, June Gordon, Molly Disharoon, Nicole Beltran, Colby Dagenhart. Madeline Loy, Rachaell Hofmiller, Anderson Montes, Connor Page. The team of June Gordon, Connor Page, Molly Disharoon, Nicole Beltran and Colby Dagenhart will be competing in the state competition in April."
Beta Club is sponsoring a Video Game Tournament, Bake Sale, and Art Walk on Thursday March 31st after school.
Friday April 1st is a required workday. Therefore, students will not have school on Friday.
We will be hosting an Open House for prospective students and their families on Tuesday April 5th at 5:30. We will begin with a short presentation in the gym followed by a campus tour led by members of our Student Senate.
We will have our Spring BBQ Fundraiser on Friday April 8th. Students are encouraged to sell tickets to raise money for our school. This money is used to buy instructional supplies that help support the students and teachers in their classes.
Our Junior/Senior Prom is on Saturday April 9th.
We will not be sending out paper copies of the third quarter progress reports. These can be accessed through the Parent Portal app. However, if you would prefer a paper copy, please contact the school. Also, please reach out to your student's teacher(s) if you have any question about your child's performance.
