Good afternoon Discovery family. I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend. Below are the announcements for the upcoming week.

No school tomorrow for staff or students for the Labor Day holiday.

Congratulations to Discovery High School staff and students for earning a grade of A on the School Report Card for this past school year. DHS is one of only two schools to earn an A. I am especially proud of this accomplishment as we were coming off the pandemic and it is a testament to the focus and work of the students and staff. We will celebrate this accomplishment on Friday as part of our Community.

As a reminder of our drop off and pick up procedures in the mornings and afternoons, parents should travel north on North Ashe Ave and turn right onto 18th Street. Students should be dropped off and picked up along the curb next to the school on 18th street. Parents should not drop off or pick up students from the student parking lot as this is a safety issue.

Be sure to review the email that went out from the district on Friday in regards to some chromebook chargers that are unsafe. If you have any questions about this, please contact the school.

We will be on a regular schedule this week and will begin our Enrichments on Tuesday (reminder that all seniors attend enrichment with Ms. Arditti) and Family on Thursday.

Underclassmen Pictures will be on Friday September 9th. Senior make up pictures will be on Monday September 19th. There will be a required workday on Friday September 23rd so students will not attend school on this day.

I hope everyone enjoys their day off tomorrow and has a wonderful week ahead. Take care and as always, please reach out if you have any questions.
