Good afternoon Discovery family. I hope that you all have had a great weekend thus far. Below are the announcements for this week.
Tomorrow October 18th is a teacher workday. The second quarter starts on Tuesday October 19th.
We will not be sending home paper report cards for the first quarter. Parents can access student grades and attendance using the Parent Portal App. If you need help with setting this up or if you would prefer to have a paper copy of your student's grades, please contact the office.
Our staff met to discuss Community Service hours this past week. As a staff, we decided to keep the current expectation for 150 hours for the graduation requirement. We will be providing opportunities for students to get these hours.
Since we were unable to have our Park Day with the BBQ due to rain, we are planning to travel to Southside Park on Friday October 22nd.
On Tuesday October 26th, our sophomores will be taking the PreACT test and our juniors will be taking the CCRA test (which is a practice ACT test). Freshmen will be split between Ms. Amerto and Mr. Wilson to work on Math and English. Seniors will be assigned to Ms. Kellogg to work on their senior project and those with Calculus will work on it.
