Mean Girls Musical Rehearsals Begin For Discovery High School

Story by Colson Whitley

Students and staff alike are awaiting the new Mean Girls musical performed by Discovery High School. The performance will be held in late March.

“This is the biggest cast we have ever had participate,” said theater teacher Rachel Isaac.

Senior Gissel Jimenez was cast as the starring role, Regina George. “I can’t wait for rehearsals. It will be really fun!” exclaimed Jimenez.

A significant amount of work takes place behind the scenes—work that is often unrecognized by those outside the process. This is the critical role fulfilled by technical staff, such as Tae Moses.

“I love being on tech because it is so cool to see the end product and see everything unfold on stage; it’s also so cool to be able to make the props that go into a performance,” explained Moses.

The Mean Girls musical, thanks to its humor and engaging numbers, is highly anticipated by many DHS students and staff members alike. The DHS Mean Girls musical is sure to be amazing, and everyone in the school is eagerly looking forward to it.
