Anna Isenhour is the new science teacher at Discovery High School. “I am really enjoying working here at Discovery!” said Isenhour. “The other teachers and staff are very supportive and all the students are very kind.”

Ms. Isenhour went to NC State University, she created and presented education carts at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, and then started a small event floral business before coming to Discovery. She still works on the floral business in her free time.

Throughout high school and college, Ms. Isenhour enjoyed learning. She especially enjoyed science classes. This, as well as her work at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, helped her discover her love for teaching. “I also enjoy helping others in their pursuit of learning,” said Isenhour.

Isenhour describes herself as bubbly, enthusiastic, and a perfectionist. She enjoys reading, watching movies and crime shows, and kickboxing outside of work. At home, she has four pets: two cats, Mushy and Pumpkin, and two sun conures, Tiki and Samba.

Despite facing challenges and gaining new experiences, she remains passionate about assisting students in their learning. When asked for a message she wants to communicate to her students, she said, “I hope that my love of and enthusiasm for science helps my students in their journey of learning science, and I want them to know that I will always try to do my best to help them in any way I can.” Ms. Isenhour is excited to continue teaching science.
