On October 11, 2024, Discovery donated relief supplies to Watauga High School in Boone. Watauga High School was one of many schools that was impacted by Hurricane Helene in Western North Carolina. Discovery decided to lend a helping hand to those in need by donating necessary supplies, including food, clothing, batteries, and more.
Senate president, Bryson Smith, who led the donation, says, “I’m really proud how DHS students came together in this time of need for Western NC,” said Smith. “Our help was much appreciated by Watauga High School, and we donated over three truckloads of supplies,” he continued.
Discovery is currently looking for a new location to donate to, but supplies are still being collected. The most needed supplies are batteries, tools, toys, school supplies, and money. If you would like to contribute, please put your items in the boxes by Chalk Talk.
Our school was extremely proud to be able to help others in need and display DHS norms. Discovery showed true kindness through their generous donations and contributions.
