Good afternoon Discovery family. I hope you're all well. Below are the announcements for this week.
Student Senate will be hosting the annual Winter Formal on Friday, December 10th from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM here at Discovery. Ticket sales will begin on Monday, November 29th. The price for admission is $4. Tickets will be sold in the Cafeteria during 1st and 2nd lunch. Due to Covid restrictions, only Discovery students will be able to attend the dance.
Senate will also be sponsoring a spirit week the week of December 6th leading up to the dance on the 10th.
The themes are as follows:
Monday (12/6) - Meme Day
Tuesday (12/7) - Disney Character Day
Wednesday (12/8) - Pajama Day
Thursday (12/9) - Color Wars
Each grade level is assigned a color to wear on this day:
Freshmen- gold
Sophomores- red
Juniors- green
Seniors- whites
Friday (12/10) - Ugly Sweater Day
End of Course and Teacher Made Final Exams will be the week of December 13th. Second period exams will be on Monday December 13th, first period exams will be on Tuesday December 14th, third period exams will be on Wednesday December 15th, and fourth period exams will be on Thursday December 16th. Friday will be reserved for make up exams. The testing plan was shared with students so they would know specifically which classes were testing each day. Students were given a form on Friday to complete and have parents sign indicating which days they would have an exam. Students were also asked to complete a google form to let us know whether or not they would need breakfast and/or lunch each day.
Senior parents: The yearbook staff is needing baby pictures of our seniors. Senior parents or seniors should submit a baby picture (age 1-4) to Madeline Loy at 12067954@stu.n-ccs.org. You may also email Madeline if you have questions about this.
