Good afternoon Discovery family. I hope that all of you have had a terrific Thanksgiving break. I hope that you all had a chance to spend quality time with family and friends. As I reflected, I realize how thankful I am to get to work with the terrific students and staff at DHS. Below are this week's announcements.
Student Senate will be hosting the annual Winter Formal on Friday, December 10th from 6:00 PM-9:00 PM here at Discovery. Ticket sales will begin on Monday, November 29th. The price for admission is $4. Tickets will be sold in the Cafeteria during 1st and 2nd lunch. Due to Covid restrictions, only Discovery students will be able to attend the dance.
Senate will also be sponsoring a spirit week the week of December 6th leading up to the dance on the 10th.
The themes are as follows:
Monday (12/6) - Meme Day
Tuesday (12/7) - Disney Character Day
Wednesday (12/8) - Pajama Day
Thursday (12/9) - Color Wars
Each grade level is assigned a color to wear on this day:
Freshmen- gold
Sophomores- red
Juniors- green
Seniors- whites
Friday (12/10) - Ugly Sweater Day
End of Course Tests and Teacher Made Final Exams will be the week of December 13th-17th. These will just be for first semester classes. Year long classes will not have a test. First semester 2nd period classes will test on Monday 12/13, 1st period classes will test on Tuesday 12/14, 3rd period classes will test on Wednesday 12/15, 4th period classes will test on Thursday 12/16, and Friday 12/17 will be a make up day.
