Good afternoon Discovery family. I hope you all are having a terrific weekend. Below are the announcements for this week.
The upcoming week is a short week as students and staff will be out of school on Wednesday - Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday. On Monday, we will have Family and on Tuesday, we will have Community.
As a reminder, all students should enter the school at the gym entrance before school in the morning. Students should arrive to school in time so that they are in class by 7:40. Going forward, the gym door will be locked at 7:40 and students arriving after that time will need to sign in at the front office.
Students will be receiving their new chromebook on Monday. Students need to bring their old chromebook and charger in order to receive their new one. Please refer to the email you received on Friday that gives the time you will go to the media center to exchange your chromebook out.
Christopher White with the Conflict Resolution Center will be on our campus at lunch on Tuesday to meet with students about a potential community service opportunity. I will be sending out an email to students with more information about this.
Due to the few number of EOC tests we have this semester and how short the first semester is, we are modifying the end of semester testing schedule that was sent out last week. All 1st semester exams (teacher made final exams and EOC exams) will now be given the week of December 13th. A specific schedule for that week will be sent out soon.
As I've walked around classes recently, I've seen more and more students either working on assignments for classes other than the one they are in or playing games. Students should be focused on completing assignments for the class they are in before working on other assignments. Remember our Pepsi Philosophy which states that you should only reward yourself once you have finished all of your work. Therefore, students should not be playing games until they have completed their assignments.
