Good afternoon Discovery family. I hope that everyone has enjoyed the beautiful weather we've had this weekend. Below are the announcements for the week.

As a reminder, students should be in their first period class everyday by 7:40. Also, students need to use their time wisely in each of their classes so they do not have to work on assignments for other classes.

3rd Quarter ends on Thursday March 9th. Students, please check with each of your teachers to ensure you have everything submitted you need.

Juniors will take the ACT on Tuesday March 7th and sophomores will take a practice ACT test on this day as well. Both juniors and sophomores should get plenty of rest on Monday night and be sure to get to school by 7:40 on Tuesday. I will send out an email Monday evening letting students know which room to go to when they arrive on Tuesday. Freshmen and seniors will have an independent study day where they will work from home on Tuesday.

Math 3 students will take their NC Check In assessment during their class on Wednesday March 8th.

There will be no school on Friday March 10th and Monday March 13th as these are teacher workdays. Students, be on the look out for a google form for a community service opportunity on these two dates at North Newton Elementary School. The Community in Schools after school program is looking for some help on these two dates as they will be serving elementary students all day on Friday March 10th and Monday March 13th.

This week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week. As part of this, we will be participating in the state-wide tornado drill on Wednesday. I encourage each of you to review your plan for your house in case of severe weather.

Our spring BBQ will be on March 31st. There will be more information sent out about this in the coming weeks.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful week. Take care.
