Christina is a 2012 graduate from Discovery High School. After graduating, she attended Appalachian State University where she obtained a degree in Anthropology: Social Practice and Sustainability. She says she is currently an "Executive Sous Chef: Black Cat Bistro in Boulder, Colorado. I have been working for Black Cat & Bramble Hare Restaurants for a little under two years now. We are a certified organic farm to table operation that raises pork, lamb, and a myriad of produce on over 675 acres of farm land. As of July 2020, we changed our format from in-house fine dining to an outdoor family style experience on the Skokan family farm as a result of the ever-changing COVID-19 restrictions in Colorado. With this change, I became in charge of the menu creation, food prep, and front of house management for these dinners. In addition, we have created 12 heated cabanas (which I did the drafting and design) to help us continue on into the colder winter months. These dinners are a true farm-to-table experience, and all of our vegetables as well as meat comes from the pastures that these cabanas overlook. Over the past two years, I was the head chef of Bramble and Hare, a Farm Hand, the manager of Mabel the farm truck, and eventually transitioned into the Farm Dinner role as described above. It's been a really incredible experience as I cooked through college while studying sustainable design and agriculture. I am also working towards an Associate's degree in Drafting / AutoCAD with hopes of getting into a Master's of Architecture program. In graduate school I am looking into studying 'what does post pandemic dining look like?'" Christina says her favorite memories of DHS are presenting her Senior Paper, AP US Government, and Enrichments.
