Spotlight on DHS Graduates - Ashley Simmons (Patton)

Ashley is a 2012 graduate from Discovery High School. Following graduation, she entered the work force and she currently works at Armacell. She is currently a corporate customer service representative for a company who creates rubber for the medical, automotive, and sports industry. She says her favorite memories of DHS are Family and Community.

Spotlight on DHS Graduates - Arianna Gonzalez-Evans

Arianna is a 2012 graduate from Discovery High School. Following graduation, she attended Western Carolina University where she obtained a degree in Nursing. She is currently an ICU nurse at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg Virginia. When asked about one of her favorite memories of DHS, she says "One of my favorite memories is when we had a water ballon fight during Mr. Dixon’s US History class to represent D-Day. It was a great day just to do something fun but also learn."

Spotlight on DHS Graduates - Sarah Kulcsar

Sarah is a 2016 graduate from Discovery High School. Following graduation, she attended Lenoir Rhyne University where she obtained her Nursing BSN degree. She currently works at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital as a CNA on a telemetry step down unit where she cares for clients after their stay in the CVICU before discharge. Sarah says her favorite memories from DHS are BIG FRIDAYS!

Spotlight on DHS Graduates - Ayla Rand

Ayla is a 2013 graduate from Discovery High School. Since high school, she has earned her History/Political Science and Sociology/Anthropology degrees with a concentration in Gender and Women's Studies from Warren Wilson College. She says, "I'm currently working as a paralegal at a small civil rights law firm right outside DC. What I do varies depending on what we have going on--one day I am writing the first draft of a brief, and the next I am organizing files or researching case law or calling witnesses or preparing exhibits. My favorite part of the job is when it's trial time." Ayla's favorite memory of DHS was the Talent Show of 2013.

Spotlight on DHS Graduates - Alexis Chambers

Alexis is a 2020 graduate from Discovery High School. After high school, she entered the work force and is currently working at Newton Vision Center. She fits people for contacts and glasses. She checks people in for appointments/ make appointments. She also orders glasses and contacts. Her favorite memory of DHS is all of the amazing people that she met.

Spotlight on DHS Graduates - Sarah Jane Harrell

Sarah Jane is a 2018 graduate from Discovery High School. She is attending Western Carolina University where she is pursuing a degree in Nursing with a minor in Religion. She says, "When I am at school, I work at the Student Mail Center. This is the post office for students who live on campus. Some of my daily tasks include entering packages, sorting mail into mailboxes and driving the mail van!" She states that she has so many wonderful memories from DHS that it's hard to narrow it down to just one. One of her favorites, though, is filming the Hunger Games trailer with Anna Grace and Abby for an assignment for Mr. Crosson.
